Research suggests that healthy people can delay deterioration of brain function, taking twice the recommended daily dose of folate.

The scientists studied men and women aged 50-75, taking 800 mcg of folic acid daily for a period of three years. They found the group had much better on cognitive tests than peers who took the placebo. The supplement users also scored higher on memory tests as much as 5.5 years younger than their chronological age.

The study is the first to convincingly demonstrate folic acid can reduce cognitive decline and works theater a key role in anti-aging techniques for cognitive functioning. • Exercise the brain: In youth, exercise for the brain is the acquisition of a good education. When a person begins to age, excellent anti-aging brain exercises include work crossword puzzles, learning to play an instrument or a game of chess and taking classes helps to exercise the brain.

• Social stimulation helps prevent reduced cognitive function

• Physical activity: Having a bad memory has been linked to heart disease and diabetes due to blockage of the arteries that slow blood flow to the brain. The exercise is useful for all these functions.

• Experts recommend doing something mentally, physically and socially stimulating all at once. An example would be the baseball team coaching your child or take a dance class.

• A anti-aging heart healthy diet is also good for a healthy brain anti-aging.
